They were the first kings to declare the independence of the Great Vietnam country against China. This site is now UNESCO heritage for its historical and cultural values. Nested in the surrounding limestone mountains and river system, Hoa Lu considered as a fortress where the emperor Dinh based and built his royal palaces. After Hoa Lu temples, we will drive through the most scenic UNESCO Trang An Ecotourism site. It is picturesque and good to ride along the green trees and majestic mountains. Then arrive in Tam Coc, check in a Sampan Boat for a 2 hours river boat ride. Sit back, enjoy fresh cool air from river and photography the rice paddies along the mountains and rivers. Your boat rower will take you through some narrow caves with magnificent stalactites and stalagmites. Then have your lunch at local restaurant before check in hotel and stay tonight in Tam Coc. The second day of Ninh Binh 2 day 1 night tour will explore further Tam Coc, Ninh Binh area by climbing up hundreds of steps to Hang Mua or Mua Cave view-point. Day 1: Hanoi – drive Hoa Lu – Tam Coc

Star your Hoa Lu Tam Coc Ninh Binh 2 days at 8:00 AM from Hanoi and head out for Ninh Binh province. It is 100 km from South of Hanoi and takes 2 hours drive. Upon arrival in the Hoa Lu village, we visit Hoa Lu – the ancient Capital of Vietnam date back to the tenth century. We visit the two temples of King Dinh and King Le, admire the unique architecture from ancient times.

Continue your drive through the so called “Halong Bay on land”, Trang An UNESCO heritage site to Tam Coc river and have lunch at a nice restaurant with many local delicacies. Then board a small sampan to visit Tam Coc which means literally three caves. With Halong bay type views of majestic limestone cliffs and mysterious caves, as well as countryside landscape like peaceful streams, rice paddies and deserted green fields, Tam Coc really has it all. You will feel the fresh air and peaceful moments, a very good opportunity for photo hunters, freezing the special moments and scenery. The boat trip takes roughly 2 hours.

You can also visit Bich Dong pagoda nearby and climb up the mountain to have a wonderful perspective view of the Bich Dong.

Transfer to a nice boutique hotel in Tam Coc and overnight here tonight.

Day 2: Tam Coc – Mua Cave – Bai Dinh Pagoda – Drive Hanoi

After breakfast at your hotel, start ride a bicycle (optional) along narrow lanes through villages to Thai Vi temple – nested in the mountains. This easy ride will showcase you rich culture and living styles of the local farmers, stunning view at the Thai Vi pagoda, watching local farmers working on their farm; then continue your cycling tour to Hang Mua or Mua cave; leave your bike at the parking lot, then start climbing hundreds of steps to the viewpoint. This is breath-taking site is the highlight of the trip to Tam Coc, Ninh Binh. When you get to the top, a wow view appears in front of your eyes, take a rest on the top mountain, before your start photography the top-notch scenery of Tam Coc river, rice paddies and villages.

Climbing down the mountain, re-start biking back to your hotel. Check out the hotel, rejoin your driver then get to Bai Dinh Pagoda – this is one of the biggest Buddhist pagoda in Asia. Arrival at the parking lot, get on a buggy to the main sanctuary of this giant pagoda. After the buggy ride, it takes you more than one hour to walk around the main sanctuary to see Giant Bronze and Golden plated Buddha statues.

Rejoin your driver and drive back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi by 5PM, end of the Ninh Binh 2 day 1 night tour.
